Accessibility statement
This page is not a help page.
It aims to present our accessibility policy and define the general accessibility level observed on the website, in accordance with the applicable protocols and regulations.

What is digital accessibility?

Digital accessibility is a set of standards and best practices covering functional, graphic, technical and editorial aspects.

Digital media (websites, mobile applications, PDF files, etc.) must adhere to particular standards and best practices in order to be accessible by people with disabilities.

For example, an accessible website allows users to:

  • Customize its display via the operating system and/or browser (enlarge or shrink characters, change typography, modify colors, turn off animations, etc.).

  • Browse using assistive technologies such as text-to-speech or Braille.

  • Navigate without having to use a mouse, just a keyboard, switches or a touchscreen.

  • Watch videos and audio content with subtitles and/or transcriptions.

  • And more.

Digital accessibility commitments

Luxinnovation is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the law of 28 May 2019 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies, transposing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

In order to meet the requirements set by European standard EN 301 549 and the Luxembourg Web Accessibility Assessment Framework (RAWeb), which applies to all Luxembourg public bodies covered by the law, accessibility is taken into account by all Luxinnovation teams (functional and graphic design, development, contribution, etc.) from the moment content is created and throughout the development and maintenance of our website https://www.startupluxembourg.lu/.

The RAWeb technical method provides an operational framework for verifying compliance with accessibility requirements, in the form of a grid of criteria (136 in total) and tests. Each criterion is assessed as either compliant, partially compliant or non-compliant. Together, these criteria make it possible to determine whether a website is compliant, partially compliant or non-compliant with legal requirements.

Accessibility statement and level of compliance

This statement was prepared following an audit conducted by two independent external companies: Ideance, aligned with RAWeb,  and Recite-me aligned with WCAG (Web Accessibility Guidelines) and the European Accessibility Act. All pages on our website have been checked, with the exception of the cookie manager. As a result, the Luxinnovation website is partially compliant with RAWeb and standard EN 301 549 (the rating is displayed at the bottom of our websites). Partial compliance means that certain elements do not meet the requirements.

Recite-me enables us to automatically and continuously evaluate the pages of our website and generates a prioritized improvement report that allows us to guarantee consistent standards in terms of the inclusivity of our digital tools.

These audits show that the Luxinnovation website is partially compliant with RAWeb and standard EN 301 549. Partial compliance means that certain elements do not meet the requirements.

Although we strive to maintain a high level of accessibility on our website, we are aware of certain limitations.

Our goal is to continuously improve our accessibility, not so much to meet an obligation, but to ensure equal opportunities for all our internet users.

Control process

The content of the AI Factory website is audited for existing content and designed for new content based on Recite-me's ‘Basseline Accessibility Checklist’, which lists critical issues frequently encountered on websites, such as:

  • Structure and navigation,
  • Multimedia,
  • Forms and interactions,
  • Consistency and coherence,
  • Screen reader compatibility.

This checklist complements the audit and allows for quick correction of the most frequent errors in both old and new publications.

An accessibility score expressed as a percentage is generated on the basis of this checklist. This score is published at the bottom of the page and changes as corrections are made, and new versions of the website are released. It demonstrates to users the AI Factory's commitment to the inclusivity of its website and its concern to remain constantly in line with the specific needs of its users.
